An anti oppression discussion for Guelph organizers and activists (with Zahra Murad)

June 28, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Hey Guelph organizers and activists, this is  a different kind of anti-oppression session than is usually offered.  Let’s talk about successes and challenges we’ve had in organizing while trying to do anti-oppressive work.  What prevents us from working with each other?  How does our work perpetuate the systems we oppose?  This is a chance to talk about times when you got called out and didn’t understand why.  It’s an opportunity to have honest conversations about real and perceived problems in the Guelph community that are holding us back.

Zahra Murad has been facilitating anti-oppression workshops in communities and with organizations for 5 years. She comes to this work with a deep commitment to social and environmental justice, community building and baked goods.
