“Awakening the Dreamer Symposium” with Kusuma Tiffany and David Burman
April 26, 2014 - April 27, 2014$25
On Saturday, April 26, Cree Elder Vern Harper has agreed to hold a purification (sweat) lodge ceremony at his camp outside of Guelph – This ceremony is the basis of all traditional Aboriginal healing throughout Turtle Island (North America) and is a transformational experience that you will not want to miss.
On Sunday April 27, you are welcome to join us with others in the community to cultivate an awareness about creating a more Environmentally Sustainable, Spiritually Fulfilling, and Socially Just Existence on Earth. To generate the conscious commitment that can create a positive future, we will:
*Weave together indigenous and modern world views.
*Connect human beings with their inherent dignity.
*Reveal the magnificence and opportunity of this moment in human history.
*Transform human relationships -with ourselves, with one another, and with the natural world.
Together, we can shift the human systems and structures that keep us separate, becoming each other’s strongest allies in ensuring a vibrant future together.

DAVID BURMAN has been active in peace, environment, green politics, local currencies and social justice issues for over 30 years, but the first time he participated in an Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium he found it to be the moving and inspirational experience to that time. In 2009 he took the Pachamama facilitator training and finds leading symposiums one of the joys of his life. In a symposium the love in the room is palpable and that is life affirming, part of the new story we are creating. Early in 2013 David brought Generation Waking Up to Ontario where 20 young people spent a powerful weekend becoming facilitators in the Wake Up Experience.
Professionally David is a dentist and teaches a course in the fall on Aboriginal Issues in Health and Healing at the University of Toronto, which is the connection to yesterday’s sweat lodge ceremony. He is also a potter, and will be participating in a group show the end of next month in Toronto.
He lives in Toronto and is married with 2 cats.
