Workshop Summary:

Spring brings a renewed sense of energy to people and plants alike. Longer days and increased rain could have you basking in beautiful gardens or wading through puddled basements. Join us for a step-by-step tour of REEP House for Sustainable Living where you will learn to protect your home from water damage and install beautiful rainwater features that keep our rivers healthy. Certified RAIN Home Visit Guide Brendan Schaefer will highlight the following:

  • building rain gardens
  • installing rain barrels and cisterns
  • replacing asphalt with permeable paving
  • extending downspouts
  • re-grading soil
  • maintaining your sump pump

This tour will help you understand which work is best left to the pros and identify the features that qualify for stormwater utility credits in Kitchener and Waterloo.

Workshop includes:

  • Explanation of Kitchener and Waterloo stormwater utility credits
  • ‘Water-Wise Home Checklist’ to take home
  • Local Service Provider and Product Supplier list of residential stormwater management services
