Thinking and Meditation – Public Lecture

July 29-30, 2014

What is the Anthroposophical Science of the Spirit?

Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) made available the initiation science which previously was the hidden source of all culture. He called this path in its modern form Anthroposophy, which means thinking in accordance with the being of man. It gives rise to fruitful and radically transformed approaches in all fields of life:

  • All of the natural science (phenomenology)
  • Mathematics (counter-space)
  • History (evolution of consciousness)
  • Medicine (holism)
  • Agriculture (biodynamic farming)
  • All of the arts (including the creation of a new one, eurythmy)
  • Pedagogy (Waldorf education in its original sense)
  • Religion (the Christian Community)
  • Sociology (discovery of the three-fold organism of society)
  • Political science (libertarianism)
  • Economics (join planning by consumers and producers)
  • Finance (depreciating currencies)

– and so on. These have scarcely begun to unfold, projecting as they do out of the future into our present.

More hidden, but also more fundamental than any such practical application, is the style of thinking that generates them. It is the way of thinking itself that awakens the organs for the conscious perception and understanding of the hidden dimensions of reality.

– Daniel Hafner, March 2014
