Urban Sugaring Project

January 28, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Urban Sugaring Project is starting up again with a  free pancake breakfast on Saturday January 28th from 9 am until noon.
The breakfast will take place at St. James the Apostle Church, located at 86 Glasgow Street North (corner of Paisley Road and Glasgow Street North).  Come and meet the committee members, hear more about the project, and enjoy some pancakes with locally made maple syrup!
The Urban Sugaring Project allows tree owners to tap their trees and have volunteers boil the sap and turn it into syrup. At the January 28th breakfast, tree owners can rent a kit (a bucket, tree tap, and instructions) for $10.  The sap is collected and return to a central location for processing.

Heard John on CBC this morning. I once lived on a farm and made my own syrup. I have about 45 tap kits that I would like to get rid of. Would you be interested in purchasing them? I will sell all of them for $125. I can be reached at the above email or phone at 519-504-8432. Peter Armstrong
