This is the third meeting, hosted in part by the members of the Meadowview intentional community. Open to everyone!


Solar Energy 101   

When: Thursday, February 11, 2010 @ 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Where: Wellington Centre for Continuing Education, Rm 8 & 9, 1428 Gordon St. Guelph

How does solar energy work and how do you set it up? This course covers the different kinds of solar systems that are available, and how the average home, cottage or business owner can decide if their location is optimal for solar. It also provides information about the Green Energy Act, how it affects solar, and why solar is now a great financial investment. Accessing government rebates for installing solar will also be discussed.

Class instructor is Douglas Prest, MBA and Professional Engineer, who will answer these questions and any others you may have regarding this environmentally friendly topic!

A workshop with Drew Dellinger: “Thomas Berry and the New Cosmology”   

When: Saturday, March 27, 2010 @ 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Where: Ecology Villa, Ignatius Jesuit Retreat Centre, Guelph, Ontario

$50 in advance -$55 at the door plus G.S.T. if space permits. Immediately following the workshop, Jim Profit Executive Director of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre, will lead a Cosmic Walk with Drew through the Stations of the Cosmos dedicated to Thomas Berry.

Drew Dellinger is a poet, teacher, writer and speaker who has inspired minds and hearts around the world, performing poetry and keynoting on justice, ecology, cosmology and compassion. He is also a consultant, publisher and founder of Planetize the Movement Press.

Dellinger has appeared at over 700 events across the U.S., U.K. and Australia. He has spoken and performed at numerous conferences--including Bioneers, the Green Festival, the Dream Reborn and the Parliament of the World's Religions--as well as colleges and universities, poetry venues, protests and places of worship. He has shared podiums and stages with luminaries such as Alice Walker, Cornel West, Thomas Berry, Matthew Fox, Eve Ensler, Paul Hawken, Ani Difranco, Chuck D, Danny Glover, Julia Butterfly Hill, Brian Swimme, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and many others.
