A huge "thank you" to everyone who made Resilience 2011: A Community Festival a HUGE success! Our Friday keynote presentations by Wayne Roberts and Chris Turner, Saturday's Eco Market, afternoon keynote by Mike Nickerson, Open Space community dialog, and our Earth Hour celebration were all packed. Our lead up events were well attended, and the level of excitement and engagement was overwhelming! Special thanks to Jenikz, who gave us an amazing concert Saturday evening to close the festival!
We want to extend a special thanks to all of our amazing volunteers. This festival couldn't have happened without you, your incredible energy, dedication and committment! Thank you!
And a big thank you also goes out to our many generous sponsors and partner groups, businesses and individuals. You can see a complete list here.
Resilience 2011 was the official "unleashing" of Transition Guelph, Canada's second official Transition Town Initiative (to learn more about Transition Towns, visit the Transition Guelph website). Our intention for the Festival was to capture the community's imagination - to inform, build momentum, and inspire people to take action to help build resilience, both personally and in the community at large. What's more, we want to celebrate the great work that is already being done by the many organizations, businesses and individuals who are taking steps to make Guelph a sustainable, resilient community, for ourselves and for our children. And we think we're off to a great start!
So join us, and let's keep the momentum going! To join our mailing list and stay current on everything that's happening with Transition Guelph, click here.
